Process

From Barite Rock to API-Grade Weighting Agent: How Your Plant Works

  1. Raw Barite Crushing & Storage – Raw barite ore (≤600 mm) is crushed in a jaw crusher to <100 mm, then a hammer crusher or impact crusher reduces it to ≤20 mm. The granules are stored in a buffer silo for continuous mill feed.

  2. Precise Dosing & Mill Feeding – The crushed barite is fed into the grinding mill at a controlled rate via a weighing belt feeder. The feed rate is automatically adjusted to maintain optimal mill load and classifier current.

  3. Closed-Circuit Grinding & Classification – The ball mill (or Raymond mill) grinds the barite to powder. The mill discharge is air-conveyed to a high-efficiency turbo classifier. On-spec powder (97% passing 200 mesh) passes through; coarse particles return to the mill for regrinding. This ensures a sharp top cut and high density.

  4. Product Collection & Cooling – The finished barite powder is collected in a baghouse filter and passed through a product cooler to reduce temperature before storage.

  5. Quality Control Sampling – An automatic sampler collects a representative sample every hour for density, particle size, and BaSO₄ content testing in the on-site lab.

  6. Packaging & Dispatch – The API-grade barite powder is stored in product silos, then packed into 25/50 kg bags, 1.5-ton bulk bags, or loaded directly into bulk tankers. A weighbridge ensures accurate billing.
