Raymond mill is a widely used grinding equipment for non-metallic mineral powder processing. It is suitable for materials with Mohs hardness ≤7 and moisture ≤6%, such as limestone, calcite, marble, barite, gypsum, talc, kaolin, bentonite, dolomite, phosphate rock, manganese ore, feldspar, and other non-flammable and non-explosive materials. The finished product fineness can be freely adjusted within 80-400 mesh, and some materials can be ground to 600 mesh or even finer.
Raymond Mill | Raymond Roller Mill — High Efficiency, Low Energy Consumption, Uniform Particle Size — The Ideal Choice for Non-Metallic Mineral Powder Processing
Compared with traditional ball mills, Raymond mill offers significant advantages: compact structure, small footprint, low power consumption, high one-pass powder yield, uniform particle size, and dust-free operation. The core grinding principle utilizes grinding rollers that tightly press against the grinding ring under centrifugal force. Material is crushed and ground between the rollers and the ring. An air classifier (separator) controls the final fineness, and coarse powder is automatically returned to the grinding chamber for regrinding, forming a closed circuit that greatly improves grinding efficiency.
Our Raymond mill features high-manganese alloy rollers/rings, wear-resistant shovels, high-efficiency fans, and pulse baghouse filters to ensure long-term stable operation while meeting strict environmental standards at home and abroad. Our products have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions, including the US, Russia, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Egypt, and Brazil, and are widely used in building materials, chemicals, metallurgy, mining, power, and environmental protection industries.
The working principle of the Raymond mill is based on centrifugal rolling and air classification. The whole process consists of the following steps:
1. Feeding
Material is crushed by a jaw crusher to ≤30mm, then lifted by a bucket elevator into a raw material silo, and uniformly fed into the Raymond mill grinding chamber by an electromagnetic vibrating feeder.
2. Grinding
When the main unit is working, grinding rollers tightly press against the grinding ring under centrifugal force. Material is scooped up by a shovel blade and thrown between the rollers and the ring, where it is crushed and ground. The ground powder rises with the airflow from the fan to the classifier.
3. Classification
The classifier controls the final fineness by adjusting the speed of the classifying rotor. Powder that meets the fineness requirement passes through the classifier to the cyclone collector or dust collector; coarse powder is rejected and falls back into the grinding chamber for regrinding, forming a closed circuit.
4. Collection & Dust Removal
After preliminary collection by the cyclone collector, the dust-laden gas enters a pulse baghouse filter for further purification, achieving final dust emission below 20mg/Nm³. The collected finished powder is discharged through a discharge valve and conveyed by a screw conveyor to the finished product silo or packaging machine.
5. System Features
The entire system operates under negative pressure, preventing dust leakage.
An air volume control valve between the fan and the main unit allows adjustment based on material characteristics and fineness requirements.
Grinding rollers and rings are made of high-wear-resistant alloy materials for long service life.
